Fort Street High School is a co-educational, academically selective, Public high school currently located at Petersham, an inner western suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
Australia's first public school. Built as the model school in 1849, originally at Fort Street near the current site of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Moved in 1916 to the current (2006) site at Taverner's Hill Petersham, where the street was re-named "Fort Street" to coincide with the name of the school. Now a public coeducational selective school.
