Comments

  • Used to be referred to as the "Pensford and Bromley Colliery". Last managed by Joseph Smith who lived at Chelwood House and is buried in Chelwood churchyard. Joseph Smith was manager of the Minnie Pit in Staffordshire when there was a terrible accident in 1918 when many died. He led one of the rescue teams.
