underground bunkers

Anybody know why these underground bunkers exist?

  • National weather (NOAA) data bouy center weather and oceanographic conditions observation center. Sunami warning, hurricanes, etc. But why the bunkers? Hmmmm.....
  • The Air Force has property at Cape San Blas which is used in conjunction with the Eglin AFB Test Range. This may be that sub-base. There were also reports in our local newspaper, the Pensacola NewsJournal, about a "Spaceport Florida" facility for sounding rockets but I don't think that has gone forward yet.
  • The "diamond" looking things are just big piles of dirt with roadways across their peak to position mobile radar antennas at higher elevations. Probably way too close to sea level for anything to be underground.
