The Marine Stadium is a popular mooring and recreation area on the Gold Coast. It's known as Bums Bay because mooring here is free and the ritzy yachts moor along the Vercase Hotel and Southport Yacht club to the south. In 2007 it was largely remote park enjoyed by a variety of people, but the state has called on developers for proposals to develop the bay into a private yacht space. Many locals would prefer it remained for the bums who like it the way it is now.
