The Prospector Burger Barn opened in the summer of 2005 following a year long renovation transforming the building from convenience store to a restaurant; it is owned and operated by a local family who use organic beef for their burgers and farm fresh potatoes for their French fries. It is a favorite of locals for providing good quality food at affordable prices. "the burger barn" as it is known as to the locals closes for the winter as long lines of people waiting to order is not uncommon; it is called a godsend by some railway employees who during lunch time would have to struggle through rush hour traffic to get lunch but since The burger Barn has been open all they have to do is walk across the the street.
