  • No.3 Middle School has been claimed the top school in the whole province of Heilongjian. Like most other important educational institutions in China today, it is under expansion and setting up new out of town campus. The admission is based on the test scores of the province wide middle school admission test and only the top tier is admitted. This admission system was interrupted during the Cultural Revolution (1966-1977) and wasn't reinstated till 1978 when the first round of province wide admission tests were hold. Brand new 6th (junior high) and 9th grade (senior high) classes were formed with the new students coming out of these tests for the first time since the Cultural Revolution. Some of the 9th grade students went on to win the top scores later on during the nation wide college entrance exams in 1980 in the whole nation and most of the top 20 scores in the province.
