Mount Katahdin

USA / Maine / Millinocket /
 mountain, National Natural Landmark

Maine's tallest mountain at a 5268' (1606 m) high and also the northern terminus of the Applachian Trail. Regarded by many as the most dramatic mountain east of the Mississippi, it is replete with knife-edged ridges, sheer drops, and tundra-like tablelands.
