Bowes Museum (Barnard Castle)

United Kingdom / England / Barnard Castle / Newgate
 museum, Grade II Listed (UK)

Fine building in the style of a French Chateau, containing a very good collection of exhibits. A Grade I listed building.

The most famous exhibit -- and best for kids -- is the 18th Century automaton of a swan, displayed in action twice a day. Ingenious and beautiful craftsmanship.
