Dolenjske Toplice is a spa town and known for its thermal baths. The Municipality of Dolenjske Toplice is situated at the west end of the Novo mesto area. The center of the municipality is a town called Dolenjske Toplice, named after the thermal spring. In the west, it borders the forest Kočevski Rog, in the south it stretches to the gateway to Bela Krajina, one of the Slovenian landscapes. In the east, Ljuben, the lonely peak, and a wide forest zone border the municipality from the rest of the Novo mesto area. In the north, the border is the steep edge of the plateau Ajdovska Planota.
