  • First section built by Count Jacob in late 13th century. The last additions made by Denmark King Christian IV in early 17th century. Used as a Swedish prison until 1931. Is now a tourist attraction with museum and bed and breakfast. The museum encapsulates the Bocksten Man. He died in the 14th century and his skeleton with a well conserved dress was found in 1936. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Varberg_Fortress
  • If more of you, like me, hate tha low quality of Varberg, try view the city in MS Virtual Earth: their first good job actually. http://www.microsoft.com/virtualearth/
