Mount Arafat or Mount Arafah (Arabic: جبل عرفات‎; transliterated Jabal 'Arafat) is a granite hill east of Makkah. It is also known as the Mount of Mercy (Jabal ar-Rahmah). The hill is the place Muslims believe the Islamic prophet Muhammad stood and delivered the Farewell Sermon to the Muslims who had accompanied him for the Hajj towards the end of his life. It reaches about 70 m in height

  • سُوۡرَةُ البَقَرَة ٱلۡحَجُّ أَشۡهُرٌ۬ مَّعۡلُومَـٰتٌ۬‌ۚ فَمَن فَرَضَ فِيهِنَّ ٱلۡحَجَّ فَلَا رَفَثَ وَلَا فُسُوقَ وَلَا جِدَالَ فِى ٱلۡحَجِّ‌ۗ وَمَا تَفۡعَلُواْ مِنۡ خَيۡرٍ۬ يَعۡلَمۡهُ ٱللَّهُ‌ۗ وَتَزَوَّدُواْ فَإِنَّ خَيۡرَ ٱلزَّادِ ٱلتَّقۡوَىٰ‌ۚ وَٱتَّقُونِ يَـٰٓأُوْلِى ٱلۡأَلۡبَـٰبِ (١٩٧) Al-Baqara The pilgrimage is (in) the well-known months, and whoever is minded to perform the pilgrimage therein (let him remember that) there is (to be) no lewdness nor abuse nor angry conversation on the pilgrimage. And whatsoever good ye do Allah knoweth it. So make provision for yourselves (Hereafter); for the best provision is to ward off evil. Therefore keep your duty unto Me, O men of understanding. (197) Surat Al Baqoroh : 197 [Musim] haji adalah beberapa bulan yang dimaklumi,[1] barangsiapa yang menetapkan niatnya dalam bulan itu akan mengerjakan haji, maka tidak boleh rafats [2] berbuat fasik dan berbantah-bantahan di dalam masa mengerjakan haji. Dan apa yang kamu kerjakan berupa kebaikan, niscaya Allah mengetahuinya. Berbekallah, dan sesungguhnya sebaik-baik bekal adalah takwa [3] dan bertakwalah kepada-Ku hai orang-orang yang berakal.
