Blue stone

Russia / Jaroslavl / Pereslavl-Zalesskiy /
 stone, paganism, interesting place

Though it is rather gray people call it Blue. A lot of myths are linked with the Blue Stone. The legend says that originally it lay at the top of the hill. The pagan tribes of Meryane and, probably, some other tribes before them, worshipped it and made sacrifices. From the advent of Christianity until the end of the 16th century it was revered by the local inhabitants (now, Orthodox Russians).
