Just visible here but accessible from the road are the two remaining arches of the medieval Murtry Bridge, made of fine cut stone and believed to date from the 14th century. Pull the car over and take a look if you're passing by, the structure is neglected and may not stand for much longer.

  • The Murtry Old Bridge is in good structural condition and is maintained annually by a group of volunteers called the Friends of Murtry Old Bridge. The coordinator is Derrick Hunt 01225 863066. There is no public access to the bridge itself.
