United Kingdom / England / Southport / Sussex Road, 102a
mosque, islam, notable by news, 1994 construction

Storeys – 2.
Capacity – 150 people.
Chairman – Imam Ibrahim Hussein.

Built in 1994 in place of the Zion Independent Methodist Church's ruins due demolition. Many Southport residents at that time rejected the mosque proposal, but more of them said "why not?" or "You’re going to have problems with these people". Runs solely on donations and serves some British towns like Burscough and Omskirk.

Praying is practiced on the second floor. The mosque also has a car parking that can fit ten cars.

On July 30, 2024, a mob gathered near the mosque at around 20:05 BST. They then started throwing bricks, bottles, fireworks, rocks and police protective gear at the mosque's front while standing off the police. These events were all a part of the UK-wide riots mainly against Islam, which were caused by false claims from far-right groups about the fatal stabber of three children in Hart Space on July 29, whom they alleged was a Muslim asylum seeker. All the mosque's windows were smashed and its fences broken and burnt. After the riots, a fundraiser was set up to repair the damage and collected over £1000.
