The electric buses operating at Dakar's Gadaye roundabout as part of the SunuBRT system are manufactured by CRRC, a Chinese company. Specifically, the buses are 18-meter articulated pure electric vehicles developed by CRRC Electric, a subsidiary of China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation (CRRC). These buses are designed to accommodate up to 150 passengers and are tailored to withstand Dakar's coastal and dusty environment. Each bus is equipped with a 563.8 kWh battery, providing a range of approximately 250 km on a single charge

The SunuBRT project is a collaborative effort between the Senegalese government and private partners. Dakar Mobilité, the operator responsible for the BRT system, is a joint venture between Meridiam (holding a 70% stake) and the Fonds souverain d’Investissements stratégiques du Sénégal (FONSIS). The project encompasses not only the procurement of the electric buses but also the construction of 23 charging stations along an 18.3 km dedicated BRT corridor. The infrastructure for the BRT system was constructed by China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) .
