Viljandi railway station is located in the Kantreküla district of Viljandi, in Viljandi County. The station is located at the southern terminus of the Tallinn–Viljandi broad-gauge railway, 150.6 km from the Balti Jaam Train Station in Tallinn. Viljandi railway station has one full-size platform with a height of 550 mm. There are four passenger trains daily from Tallinn to Viljandi and from Viljandi to Tallinn. The passenger train from Balti Jaam to Viljandi takes about 2 hours 10 minutes, while the express train takes less than 2 hours. The station has seven branch lines, with several more branch lines leading to industrial areas. The station can also be used for loading and unloading goods onto and off trains.
