Sigaste railway station is located in the village of the same name in Saarde rural municipality, Pärnu County. Until 2008, Sigaste was on the Pärnu–Mõisaküla railway, which in turn was part of the Tallinn–Pärnu–Riga railway. The Sigaste half-station was built in 1896 together with the Valga–Ruhja–Pärnu railway. At that time, it was located in Saarde rural municipality, on the lands of the Kärsu manor. Between 1975 and 1981, the narrow-gauge railway was replaced by the broad-gauge Tallinn–Pärnu–Riga railway, as a result of which Sigaste became an intermediate point. The last passenger train passed through Sigaste on 31 January 1996. Freight trains continued to operate between Pärnu and Mõisaküla until the early 2000s.
