  • Lesoma disaster was inspired by then apartheid regime to sponsor the rhodesian guerillas. The local people were fried by this war experience and also the guerillas used the village as their camping place to be exact used a baobab tree as a place of sleep and rest. The villagers were really stranged by this,so the CHIEF sent his son and nephew to go inform the military(Botswana Defence Force)and the soldiers quickly invaded the village with the hope of rescuing the local people from the guerillas but unfortunately their vehicles were attacked and this led to the death of 15 soldiers and 1 villager(That is the nephew to the village chief).
