Set in fourteen acres, Shinfield Grange was formerly the home of the Palmer family which has become synonymous with Reading. Prior to its acquisition by the College of Estate Management in 1989, Shinfield Grange had been a centre for horticultural research. The original farmhouse was built in 1655, and substantial additions were made in 1857 and in the 1930's.
The site is now used as conference centre and venue for functions, especially wedding functions.
