One of the "new" consolidated elementary schools in the city, and built on the site of a previous school of the same name, Spencer Borden serves students in the North End of the city. The school was named for the founder of the Fall River Bleachery, Spencer Borden, a chemist by trade and son of one of the original Borden brothers who founded many of the mills in the city.
