Designed c. 1897 by Wait & Cutter Architects at a cost of $150,000, the armory was active until 1958, when the Dwelly Street Armory opened. After that, it has served as home for the city's recreation department, as well as being the home gym for Durfee basketball during its heyday.

    Your dates are not correct...My father, Mr. Francis Frett Sr (CWO-4). Had his office on the 1st floor left corner (front), with the Army National Guard. Please check and correct. He was there at least to the mid 60's!
