The 2024 Java Sea earthquake is an earthquake that occurred in the Java Sea on Friday, March 22 2024 at 15:52:58 WIB with a magnitude of 6.5 with a depth of 10 km (6 mi) according to BMKG, 6.4 with a depth of 8.5 km (5 mi) according to USGS.

A number of buildings were reported to have been damaged as a result of this earthquake, where several schools and houses were reported to have been damaged and collapsed on Bawean Island and caused serious damage to the Airlangga University campus hospital. This earthquake was also reported to be felt as far away as South Kalimantan and Jakarta.
