  • Krantisinh Nana Patil College of Veterinary Science, unique in its placement on a totally rural background, was established under the auspices of Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri in the year 1988. With the establishment of MAFSU the institute was transferred under its control in the year 2001. The institute was basically established to cater to the needs of people in ten districts of Western Maharashtra region. This region of the state is rich in animal husbandry activities and surpasses the other regions of the state in almost all aspects of livestock and poultry industry viz. total livestock and poultry population, milk, meat and egg production. The college was named as Krantisinh Nana Patil College of Veterinary Science to honour the great freedom warrior Krantisinh Nana Patil who established a parallel government against the British regime called `PRATISARKAR` during the freedom struggle of India.
