Kilkenny is a medieval city in County Kilkenny, southeast Ireland. It is located in the South-East Region and in the province of Leinster. It is built on both banks of the River Nore. Kilkenny has deep religious roots and many well-preserved churches and monasteries, including imposing St. Canice’s Cathedral and the Black Abbey Dominican priory, both from the 13th century.
