ruins, plantation
These ruins are believed to be the remains of a building used by Lewis Johnston in the late 1700s. Lewis Johnston received a large grant of Crown Land for the purpose of developing a plantation. The granting of Crown Land was Britian’s way of showing gratitude to those who chose to remain loyal to the king during the American Revolutionary War.
