June 30, 1977 on a collision course in the clouds, a Mi-6 helicopter collided with a cargo transported on an external sling by an Mi-8 helicopter.
As a result of the collision on the Mi-6 helicopter, the main and tail rotor was destroyed and a fire broke out. The helicopter fell to the ground in uncontrolled flight, collapsed and burned down. All 5 crew members and the expedition worker (slinger) on board were killed.
