Riga Congress Centre was built in 1982. Due to conference hall with 1200 seats, it is an important municipal building in Riga. The building was exposed together with the fountain that is situated in front of the building. The fountain was renovated in 2000 and now is decorated by rainbow colour lights that come out of the water. It is worth seeing it especially in the dark. The location of the Congress Centre wasyear 1986 chosen in Riflemen park (previously called Kronvalda Park in 1982), in the place of Officers House. The architects of the building are J. Gertmanis, V. Kadirkovs, etc.
