Krišjāna Barona iela 4, built in 1888, holds one of the oldest Latvian museums, the Museum of Natural History, which was founded in 1845. Spread over four floors, the Museum has more than 175 thousand exhibits, ranging from fossils and plants to stuffed animals. Today, one of the priorities of the museum is to promote society's interest in environmental education and to form an environmentally friendly attitude and reasonable use of natural resources.
