Qaudi - e- Azam Library formerly Montgomery Hall, now part of the Quaid-e- Azam Library is situated at the edge of the Jinnah/Lawrence Gardens. Named after Sir Robert Montgomery, who succeeded Sir John Lawrence on February 26, 1859 as Lt, Governor, the Hall was built (1861- 1862) in the classical style. The initial cost of Rs. 108,000 was contributed by the Punjab Chiefs and leading Lahore citizens.
