An ancient habitation mound on the northern edge of modern Türkmen Karahöyük in the Konya province of Turkey. After studying the mound in 2019, a team led by Osborne and Massa identified it as the seat of the (Iron Age?) king Hartapu, and as the likely location of Late Bronze Age Tarhuntassa, a Hittite royal residence and secundogeniture. The site is now believed to have been settled from the early Bronze Age through the Hellenistic Period, and to have significantly increased in size during the Late Bronze Age and Early Iron Age. It was the largest settlement in the area during these times.
