church, archaeological site, ancient ruins
A ruined Byzantine church or chapel on Mahalaҫ Tepe, the highest peak of Karadağ. The structure was built of stones at least partly reused from a late or Neo-Hittite monument inscribed for the Great King Hartapu, which may also have stood on this site as a mountaintop sanctuary.
