Gyeonngremg is the tomb of Heonjong (1827-1849), the 24lth monarch of Joseon, his 1st Queen, Hyohyen (l828-1843) from the Kim family, and his 2nd Queen, Hyojeong (1831-1903) from the Hong family. The tomb with the triple parallel mounds (Samyeolleung) is the only example of this type in the Joseon Dynasty.

Heonjong ascended the throne at the age of 8, During the early part of his reign, Grand Queen Sunwon (queen of King Sunjo, Heonjongs father) administrated state affairs from behind the veil on his behalf as he was still young, He was known as an ardent scholar and also an expert calligrapher.

The Kim family's political influence made it very difficult for him to carry out his own political decisions. He died at 23 leaving no heir. Therefore King Cheoljong ascended to the throne.

The stone objects of Gyeonngreung, with the triple burial mounds, are created like the those of the single mound tombs. The mounds are connected with stone railings without retaining stones,
