Clapham High School is a co-educational, English medium and Christian based high school in Queenswood, Pretoria.

School motto: "Moving from good to great."

The school is named after Mr William Beverley Clapham (1878 - 1949), a prominent citizen of Pretoria, with a strong social conscience. He unstintingly served many causes, in particular education and boys' clubs. He was a member of the Pretoria School Board for 25 years. He had the confidence of all teachers and every section of the community because of his almost supernatural fairness, impartiality and his unbounded energy.

Clapham High School came into being in 1948 at the Old Staats Model School in Van Der Walt Street, with Mr R Ogden as acting principal and 34 standard 6 (grade 8) and 13 standard 7 (grade 9) pupils. On 18 January 1949 the school reopened with Mr Geen as its Headmaster (1949 - 1961), 10 staff members and 196 pupils. The pupils were taken to see "Scott of the Antarctic" at the Capitol theater and, moved by the story, the pupils voted to name the houses after Scott's exploration party. The houses have retained these names Scott, Oates, Bowers and Wilson. The school closed briefly in December 1950 to move to a "modern" building in Du Toit Street. In 1951, the name, uniform and badge were registered and at the beginning of 1955 the school moved to its present site in Queenswood.
