In Babyn Yar and other districts of Kyiv, the Nazis destroyed entire Gypsies camps and individual settlers. As early as September 1941, three Gypsies camps from Kurenivka were shot dead outside the Kirillov Church. They were shot after the massacres of Jews in late 1941 and early 1942. As of April 1, 1942, the city council had count only 40 Gypsies in Kyiv
