The mausoleum of Botagay (also Bytygay or Tatygay or Tatogay) is a domed rectangular structure believed to have been built in the 11th-12th century. It is located about 2.8 km northeast of the center the village of Korgalzhyn in Kazakhstan, south of the Nura river. According to legend, Botagay was commissioned to build this mausoleum for a local ruler, but perished in a construction accident while building a bridge across the Nura; out of gratitude for Botagay's services, the ruler had him buried in the mausoleum that had been intended for the ruler.
