HMAS Coonawarra is a Royal Australian Navy base located in the City of Darwin. Established in 1935, the base is presently the primary RAN operations facility on Australia's Northern coastline and as such is the homeport for eight Armidale Class Patrol Boats which operate as part of the Attack, Aware and Assail Divisions. The vessels and crews of these divisions are tasked primarily with enforcing maritime security, conducting search and rescue and fisheries enforcement patrols throughout Australia's Exclusive Economic Zone.
