Watsangvej School was originally established in 1885 as an elementary school. In the mid 1940, Watsangvej School was closed because of hostility concerns and conflict intrusion during World War 2. It was not until, that the school was re-opened by Somdej Pra Wannarat (Sub Cosako), a former Abbot of Watsangvejwisayaram.
On July 1, 1953 the school was granted permission to re-open with new cirriculum, at lower secondary education level Since 1971 Watsangvej School expanded its academic level to an upper secondary education level.
