Owner of one of many iron ore mines in Minas Gerais, Samarco (www.samarco.com) has built a remarkable 400-Kms pipeline (mineroduto) which carries the ore to the port of Ubu in the State of Espiritu Santo. The extraordinary pipeline route starts here at 1,000 m, goes as high as 1,200 m halfway through its route, and can easily be seen on Google Earth (imagery maps dated 2007 and after).
