Amasa Back is a long, irregular, ridge/plateau inside a U-turn bend of the Colorado River. It is the destination of the Amasa Back Trail, which starts at Kane Creek Road and ends somewhere in the southern portion of the "back." From the back's southwest corner there is a sweeping view of the river and surrounding terrain, notably Jackson Hole. The polygon border reflects the portion of the feature that could be considered a plateau; this is, of course, subjective.
