The monument to Ihor Sikorskyi (or also Igor Sikorsky, 1889 – 1972, the great Ukrainian and American aviation pioneer in both helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft, who was born in Kyiv) was opened near the Sikorskyi Airport (ex-Zhuliany Airport) on August 31, 2019 – the Day of Aviation of Ukraine.
Author: sculptor Volodymyr Zhuravel.
The figure of Ihor Sikorskyi is made of bronze, covered with a dark green patina, and stands on a stylized granite hemisphere.
