Transvaal Park was a former water park in Yasanevo, Moscow, Russia that opened in 2002. The aquapark had an African theme and contained countless pools, a sauna, a waterslide, a solarium, and a bowling alley.
On February 16, 2004, the roof of the waterpark collapsed onto the section of the building packed with swimming spectators. As a result of the collapse, 28 people were killed and over 100 people were injured by debris. The cause of the collapse was most likely a faulty engineering design or a large build-up of snow that caused the roof to cave in.
