park, hiking, nature preserve
Lady’s Bluff Small Wild Area offers views of gnarled old cedars, limestone outcrops and sinkholes as well as spectacular views of the Tennessee River. Wildflowers such as shooting star, jack-in-the-pulpit and wild ginger bloom here in abundance in mid-to-late April and early May. In mid-October, a wildlife refuge becomes a landing strip for thousands of migrating ducks and geese making their annual visit.
Lady's Bluff Trail is a TVA managed trail that is also a National Recreation Trail located near the Kentucky Lake. The trail follows along a gentle to moderately steep grade as it winds through the forest to an overlook; stone steps are provided in steep areas and footbridges span two stream crossings.
