  • Named after a Human Skeleton was found on the island in the mid 1900s, was also known as Lovers Cove at one point because of a tale of an affair between a Young settler and a female from a local indian tribe, the island was their rendezvous point.

  • Interesting. As a CFHS student in 1961 I had a senior research project attempting to determine the reason for the name and never did get a definitive answer after reviewing newspaper records and talkng to local old timers. How did you find this out?
