Malmøya is an island situated only 8 kilometres outside Oslo centrum - the capital of Norway. It is about 180 households on the island, and it has been populated since early of 1800. Tha first road connection was made in 1966 by a bridge over to Ormøya.
Oslo kommune is drifting a camping (Solvik) on the island who is reserved for fysical handicapped peoples. The island is mostly known for its large quantities of fossils from the cambrian-silur period, and rare flowers. The little bay "Skinnerbukta" on the west side is very popular anchor place for small boats.
