In 1997, ICTSI formed a joint venture with Atlantic Gulf and Pacific Co. to manage, operate and develop the Bauan Terminal. Marubeni Philippines later joined the consortium. BIPI is now 60 percent owned by ICTSI, 20 percent by AG & P, and 20 percent by Marubeni.

The Bauan Terminal is a multi-purpose terminal, primarily handling roll on-roll off cargo. Containerized, break bulk and other project cargo are also handled at the terminal.

Start of operations: April 1999

The Bauan Terminal is approximately 120 kilometers south of Manila, facing the Batangas Bay and nine kilometers west of Batangas City. The terminal is within a natural cove, and is protected from adverse weather conditions.
The terminal supports cargo movements in and out of the Cavite-Laguna-Batangas-Quezon Area, and is an alternative port to the Port of Manila.
