A good starting place for touring the Kamakura area. Engaku-ji--a handsome and historic temple complex--is adjacent to the station. Tokei-ji temple, atmospheric and uncrowded, is a five-minute walk away. As you exit the station on the street side, there is a modest but pleasant restaurant.
Access: Less than an hour from Tokyo Station on the Yokosuka Line, or Shinjuku on the Shonan-Shinjuku Line.
