Viru Viru International Airport (Santa Cruz de la Sierra)

Opened in 1976, is able to handle large commercial jets. Flights to and from this airport are mainly domestic or to neighbouring South American countries. It is located near the Santa Cruz city at an altitute of about 373 m and provides an good alternative to those who do not want to use the El Alto International Airport at La Paz which is situated at a rather high altitude of 4061 m.
