A continuously operating farm (and now petting zoo) since 1790, The Fantastic Umbrella Factory now also sells African musical instruments, oddities from around the world, and very few umbrellas. A great place to visit for a few hours while driving through this area of Rhode Island.

  • This place really does have it all... My kids loved the sheep, and the Emus were impressive- someone told me a story about a waiter who worked here having to lasso one that had escaped...turned out okay for all involved. If you want a diversion on a rainy day, shopping, music, or gardening, this is the place to be.
  • The Small Axe has some of the best Reggae albums outside of Trenchtown... Hard to find stuff becomes commonplace. A great place, will definitely do more shopping there in the future.
  • The best place... Also, ask nicely and you might get something extra from one of the waitresses. No, seriously...
