A circular stone shrine atop the man-made tumulus on Burkhan Khaldun. The tumulus was the subject of two French non-intrusive investigations led by Pierre-Henri Giscard in 2015 and 2016 and the focus of an ancestral cult; it has been plausibly identified as the tomb of Chinggis Khan and of several of his immediate successors.
