church, ruins, cemetery, archaeological site, Medieval / Middle Ages
An overgrown ruined medieval church and graveyard on the southern end of a low ridge in Selloo townland, with little in the way of visible remains. The name is derived from Suidhe Lugha, the "seat of Lua," and therefore this has been identified as the true site of Saint Mollua (or Molua) of Kyle's church instead of that at Drumsnat some 5 km to the southeast. The site includes two bullaun stones, the base of a stone cross, and burials (exclusively for children after c. 1800). The decorated shaft of a high cross has now been moved to the County Monaghan Museum. The site is partly overlain by modern field banks.
